Building the Educational Center at BLISS Meadows

In many urban neighborhoods, nature is something seen in textbooks, not touched by hand. This distance impacts mental health, academic curiosity, and environmental stewardship.

Research shows that time in nature improves focus, reduces stress, and strengthens problem-solving skills. For young people in cities, these experiences can be life-changing:

  • They learn that science isn’t just in labs — it’s in soil, feathers, and seeds.
  • They gain confidence and patience from planting a seed and waiting for it to grow.
  • They carry a new awareness of how their lives are connected to the land around them.

Without a dedicated indoor space, we are forced to pause that growth each winter. The Educational Center will remove that barrier, ensuring our youth remain connected to nature every month, in all weather.

Our planned Educational Center will be the beating heart of BLISS Meadows:

  • A Warm Welcome in Any Weather — A heated classroom space where field trips can gather, learn, and explore without frostbitten fingers.
  • A Living Laboratory — Windows that frame the meadow, so lessons about wildlife, ecology, and sustainability remain connected to the land even indoors.
  • Space for All Seasons of Learning — Room for hands-on science, art projects, and community events that don’t end when the first snow falls.

When you support the Educational Center, you help:

  • Keep our doors open for field trips year-round.
  • Provide a safe, warm, inspiring space for children to learn and create.
  • Ensure that no season — not even the coldest — can stop the next generation from falling in love with the natural world
